An “Orchid Jungle” Takes Bloom at the Savannah Mall

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Deep South Orchid Society is proud to announce their 28th annual show, “Orchid Jungle”, will be at the Savannah Mall Center Court, Thursday, Feb. 20 through Sunday, Feb. 23.

Free clinics and lectures from local orchid enthusiasts will be held to educate people about orchid care in the South. There will also be informational displays from orchid experts based out of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Unique and exotic orchids will be for sale from vendors across the Southeast, such as Hicks Orchid Supply, Kool Logs, Live Oak Orchids, Marble Branch Farms, Oglethorpe Orchids, and Nature on the Rocks.

“There are 25,000 natural orchid varieties in the world, and they can survive and thrive in most climates” said Cheryl Holesovsky, the President of Deep South Orchid Society.

Holesovsky continued, “Despite their versatility, there is something particularly striking about orchids. They are delicately beautiful, and are generally thought to represent wealth, love, and beauty. Some of the most popular types are the Phalaenopsis, Cymbidium, and Dendrobium orchids.”

“Orchid Jungle” will be a collaboration of seven orchid societies, including: Atlanta Orchid Society, Orchid Society of Aiken & Augusta, Coastal Carolina Orchid Society, South Carolina Orchid Society, South Metro Orchid Society, Herb & Trish Windom, and Deep South Orchid Society.
