(AUGUSTA, GA) COMMUNITY HEADLINES, NOV 23, 2013

(AUGUSTA, GA) – The editors of Augusta Community Headline News would like to wish everyone in the community a wonderful Thanksgiving. As we all take time away from daily routines to think about the many things we have to be thankful of, we too would like to reflect back upon some of the many gifts that have blessed this community:

Place-making, cultural celebrations such as Jazz on Pine, Arts in the Heart, the Westobou Festival, and Laney Walker/Bethlehem’s Blocks are Beautiful celebration as well as ongoing exhibits and activities at the Morris and Lucy Laney Museums, the Gertrude Herbert Institute, and the Augusta Public library

Leadership from all corners of the City to promote live/work/play opportunities in the City’s urban core, ranging from the Mills project to Augusta Tomorrow’s Westobou Plan to downtown retail to the national award-winning development Heritage Pine

Citizen engagement to move forward an Artspace development – which will provide for studio/demonstration/live spaces for Augusta area artists and other cultural creatives – and a soon-to-be-designed African American Heritage Trail – an historical/cultural/recreation set of pathways connecting Harrisburg, the Medical District, downtown Augusta, and Laney Walker/Bethlehem

Community vision for world-changing ideas, to be showcased at Augusta’s first annual TEDx conference this coming January

And finally, the ongoing efforts of so many folks in the community to make in-town living vibrant, engaging, and rich with meaning

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
