FREEMAN PROJECT HOLDS FOURTH ANNUAL MEMORIAL 5K AND 10K RACE

(RICHMOND HILL. GA) The Matthew Freeman Project will be hosting its fourth annual Capt. Matthew Freeman Memorial 5k and 10k on November 16, 2013 at Waterways Township in Richmond Hill beginning at 8:30 am. There will also be inflatables and a 1k fun run for children and senior citizens.

The Capt. Matthew Freeman Memorial Race, which has previously been held at J.F. Gregory Park, was started to remember town hero, Capt. Matthew Freeman and raise money for the non-profit project started in his name.

The director of the race will be Georgia Game Changers, a store specializing in “injury-free” running and teaching others about natural running. Sponsoring the race this year is Waterways Township, a 2,300-acre community offering residents an active lifestyle. Many other local businesses are also sponsoring the race. Check out www.freemanproject.org for a list of those sponsors.

About The Matthew Freeman Project:

The Matthew Freeman Project: Pens & Paper for Peace is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to collecting pens, paper, and other school supplies in cities and towns across the United States and sending them to U.S. military personnel for distribution in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other war-torn countries where children’s education has been affected by armed conflict. A scholarship has recently been started through The Matthew Freeman Project to help Gold Star siblings whose education was interrupted by the death of their sibling. All donations are tax-deductible.
