Goodwill and Girl Scouts Partner to support National Disability Employment Month

(SAVANNAH, GA) Goodwill of the Coastal Empire and Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia are teaming up to do a ‘good turn’ for the community by donating clothing and household items to the annual Good Turn Day Drive on Sat., Oct. 26th. Collected goods will be sold at Goodwill’s retail stores to fund Goodwill’s job training programs for people with disabilities or barriers to employment.
Registered Girl Scouts who participate will earn a special patch to commemorate their participation. The Good Turn Day collaborative service project has offered Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia the opportunity to make a positive impact in their community while recognizing National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October.

Girl Scouts and community members are invited to collect and donate gently used clothing, books, housewares, and other items. Girl Scouts must register individually or by troop at www.gshg.org to qualify for patch.
Donation locations include Brunswick, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Rincon, Savannah, Statesboro, Vidalia, Waycross, and Wilmington Island Goodwill Stores. For more information on how you can participate contact Jan Bass at Goodwill of the Coastal Empire at jbass@goodwillsavannah.com or 912.354.6611 ext. 107.
