South University Announces Public Relations Advisory Board

SAVANNAH, GA – January 27, 2015 — South University, Savannah has created a program advisory committee comprised of local communications professionals who will guide the institution’s growing public relations degree programs.

Lesley Francis of Lesley Francis PR, Marjorie Young of Carriage Trade PR, and Herbert Goodwin of Razor Sharp Records South have backgrounds in business, non-profit and mass media.

“We think the composition of the committee will insure that a variety of perspectives are represented,” said P. Wynn Norman, director of the program. “We are also excited to have attracted the support of professionals with so much experience and solid reputations in the Coastal Region. Each of them exemplify the real-world, strategic public relations our students are here to learn as part of our bachelor and master of public relations degree programs.”

Francis founded an award-winning agency in London before moving to the US in 2009.  An active member of number of community organizations and charities, Francis’ clients include local businesses as well as non-profit organizations and community events. She is also a columnist for the Bryan County News and a feature writer for The Skinnie and Reflections Magazine.

Young founded Carriage Trade PR in 1995 and has earned accolades for her entrepreneurial skills from a number of Coastal Region businesses and groups, including the Chamber of Commerce. She is also the co-author of Secrets of the Woman in the Suit, an inspirational collection of stories about successful women and their struggles to succeed.

Goodwin is the CEO of Razor Sharp Records South, Inc., a recording studio and independent record label that provides local musicians with coaching, recording, management and marketing/PR services. Razor Sharp Records also has studios in Atlanta and Los Angeles, and is a major sponsor of the 2015 River City Urban Music Festival.
