Mother Daughter 5K to Benefit Savannah Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Mothers and Daughters Together 5K will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center, located at 1 International Dr. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Savannah Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

The Mothers and Daughters Together 5K is part of Jessica DeLoach’s LLS Women of the Year Fundraising Campaign in helping fight childhood cancer.

“There is something special about completing a goal together,” DeLoach said. “Overcoming a challenge together can create a memory, a special bond that can help bridge the gap in hard times, sweeten the celebration during the good times. The best part of spending this kind of time together is it creates quality time.”

Teams must include at least 2 runners, max of 6. The registration fee is $30, which includes a shirt and photo download. Girls nine-years or younger will not be required to register. The team with the highest cumulative age will be awarded pedicures, massages, lunch and few relaxing hours at the Heavenly Spa by Westin. The appointment is booked for 11:00pm after the race. Jessica DeLoach currently works at Bernard Williams and Company. She has two children. When asked why she kicked off her campaign, DeLoach said, “As a parent, I cannot imagine missing firsts with my children as the families affected by blood cancer do. Spending holidays in hospitals, time away from the comforts of home, and just not having the ‘normalcy’ of childhood to cherish. We candidates are the mechanism to raise money but the cause is the real winner.”
