One Day Donation Drive at for Women’s Shelter Fill Storage Unit

(Savannah GA/Hilton Head, SC) BOB 106.9 teamed up with Enmark area convenient stores and
collected enough items to fill the storage unit of SAFE Shelter, a women’s shelter that provides housing for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence.

“These women leave in the middle of the night with their kids and show up atSAFE Shelter with nothing but the clothes on their backs,” said Tim Leary. (Tim Leary & The Morning Showgram) “What they need the most is the daily items we take for granted like towels and toiletries.”

Listeners showed up for the one day donation drive and filled giant moving boxes placed at five Enmrak stores across Southeast Georgia, including one listener who showed up to the station with more than 1,300 diapers!

“We got a call in the studios from our listener Randy Davis who told us to come outside,” states Billie Marshall. (PD/Co-Host Tim Leary & The Morning Showgram) “Randy and his wife Sherry brought us 1,000 diapers…which should last the mothers at Safe Shelter about an hour.”

“I was blown away today when the Bob 106.9 van drove up, packed to the hilt, with the most amazing donations I’ve ever seen!” said Cheryl Branch, Executive Director SAFE Shelter in a letter to the station. “You guys are absolutely the best and all of the listeners out there, you are all our special angels!”
