Buy Local Savannah is pleased to welcome Lyn Vos, Area Director in Savannah for The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center, to speak at its monthly luncheon being held on Thursday, September 18th at The Pirates House.  Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. and the lunch begins at noon.  Using the platform of this uncertain economy, Ms. Vos will offer tips of where to look for hidden cash and what you can do to maintain profitability in your small business.
 
Ms. Vos has more than 15 years experience working with small businesses in Georgia. In addition to providing assistance to small business owners and potential business owners through the Small Business Development Center Network, Ms. Vos has a strong background in accounting (including passing the CPA exam and teaching college level accounting courses). Ms. Vos has been recognized for her outstanding business consulting skills by the Small Business Chamber Inc. (1999 Small Business Champion of the Year Award), the Association of Small Business Development Centers (the Star Performer Award in 1999, the highest award available for outstanding work within an SBDC, and the State Star Award in 2001) and within the Georgia SBDC as the 2000 Business Consultant of the Year.  In 2006, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce awarded her the Helen V. Head Small Business Advocate of the Year.
