(SAVANNAH, GA) Event Raises $25,000 for the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Time Starts Now! Event Raises $25,000 for the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS)

(SAVANNAH, GA): The inaugural “Time Starts Now!” event held on Thursday, Jan. 24 raised $25,000 to benefit the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) and it’s educational, outreach and advocacy programs for local families. These include Camp Buddy, the Night of Champions, Book Bundles and the monthly support group meeting that benefits people with Down syndrome and their families.

The sold-out event included 10 teams of 10 competing in “Minute to Win It”-style challenges. Meridth Lamas and her team of State Farm insurance agents took top prize at the event, winning the accolades of their peers and bragging rights until next year’s competition.

Event Chairperson Marcie Moxley is thrilled with level of participation and enthusiasm from the business community, “We are so thankful for the support of our sponsors, participating teams and volunteers. It took everyone coming together to make Time Starts Now! such a success. We can’t wait to get started on next year and look forward to this being an annual event to benefit the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society," Moxley said.

Teams competing were Service Master of Savannah, Servpro of Savannah, CRDN, Puroclean, Mortgage Bankers Association of Savannah, Engle Martin & Associates, Inc, Greenleaf Construction & Restoration,HSA Engineers & Scientists, State Farm-Meridth Lamas, and Willis Insurance Services.
