Park Place Outreach, Inc., would like to announce it has a new board member. Melissa K. Bouchillon is a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch. She has worked there for 4 ½ years and is looking forward to serving Park Place Outreach as a member of the Park Place board.

"I viewed Park Place Outreach as an opportunity to get a bit more hands on here in Savannah. The organization fulfills a very specific need for struggling youth in our community and I am excited to help Park Place continue its mission and outreach," she explains.

Bouchillon is married and has three stepchildren, ages 9, 11, and 13. She has lived in Savannah for eight years. Her hobbies include running, biking, reading, boating and knitting.

In addition to her work with Park Place, Bouchillon also volunteers for United Way’s Allocation Committee, Faith In Practice, a medical mission in Guatemala, and Savannah Christian.

The board members each play a key role in making decisions for Park Place. Its most recent accomplishment is the completion of the new Park Place home, which is valued at more than $1.6 million. Thanks to the hard work of the board members and donations of goods and services from the community, there is no mortgage on the new home.

Park Place Outreach provides emergency shelter and street outreach for adolescents ages 11 through 17 and their families. It is the only agency located within Chatham County that serves youth at no charge who are accepted without a referral to receive help. Park Place Outreach opened in 1984. There are approximately 15-30 youth served each month and about 200 each year.
