The Savannah Country Day School Choir along with members of the Savannah Choral Society will join forces on Sunday, April 27 to perform Mozart’s Requiem. The concert will be held at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Street in downtown Savannah. Free and open to the public, the performance is dedicated to the memories of Mrs. Connie Houston, Mrs. Dorothy Jenkins, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Jane Triol, four unforgettable former Country Day faculty who recently passed away.

The concert will feature the SCDS Upper School Choir, led by Choir Director Maya Roos, as well as distinguished members of the Savannah Choral Society, led by Artistic Director Peter Shannon. According to Shannon, “This is a wonderful opportunity for our organization to support the community and share the love of music for a multigenerational performance. We always enjoy the chance to be involved in educational outreach, especially with such a talented group of students.”

Formerly known as the Savannah Symphony Chorus, the group is an all-volunteer, auditioned group of about eighty singers from Savannah, Hilton Head, Statesboro and surrounding counties, dedicated to performing and exposing audiences to high-quality choral music.
