The Culinary Institute of Savannah at Savannah Technical College is proud to announce the hiring of two new faculty members, Chef Jean Yves Vendeville and Chef Matt Cohen. (SAVANNAH, GA)  Chef Matt Cohen is pleased to join The Culinary Institute of Savannah’s faculty at Savannah Technical College.  Recruited for the position of Associate Instructor for the Culinary Arts Program, Chef Matt will be teaching Principles of Cooking at the college.  Chef Matt was hired along side of Chef Jean Yves Vendeville who will serve as the new Department Head and Instructor for the Culinary Arts Program.

Chef Matt Cohen, owner of New South Café & Professional Chef Services, is a culinary expert who has worked in big name restaurants throughout New York and Atlanta.  A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Cohen trained at one of the top rated culinary schools in the world.  He then went on to earn his degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University, one of the top three hospitality universities in the country.
 
Cohen is a hospitality industry veteran and founder of two hospitality and tourism organizations: The Coastal Catering Alliance and the Savannah DMC (Destination Management Company).  Cohen has been honored with numerous awards throughout his career, including 2008 Best Chef of the Year by Connect Savannah Magazine in their annual Best of Savannah Readers’ Poll and the Small Business Chamber’s 2008 New & Emerging Small Business Award.
