The New South Café is excited to announce their new summer hours and menu change. Beginning June 3rd The New South Café will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30am – 8:30pm and will be offering the same menu all day long.
Now guests can enjoy that delicious coffee crusted tenderloin or crispy scored flounder for lunch or their very popular shrimp and grits or yummy peanut crusted fried chicken for dinner. Chef Matt is proud to be featuring all of their tasty choices anytime of day.
The New South Café, owned by Chef Matt Cohen, is an innovative restaurant at the forefront of redefining classical southern food. Unique and edgy recipes which add a gourmet spin to traditional southern fare, local organic produce & seafood, and the freshest ingredients available, make up their high quality cuisine. The New South Café was recently honored with the Small Business Chamber’s New & Emerging Small Business Award.
A fifth generation Savannah native, Chef Matt Cohen is a culinary expert who has worked in big name restaurants throughout New York and Atlanta. Cohen was voted Connect Savannah’s 2008 Chef of the Year by the Savannah public. The New South’s Executive Chef Scott Gordon, who worked with the world famous Chef Norman Van Aken for many years, is the creator of their amazing menu. Both chefs are graduates of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, one of the top rat ed culinary schools in the world.
The New South Café now serves their entire menu all day, beginning at 11:30am with the last seating starting at 8:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday. The New South Express Menu is available weekdays during lunch allowing the guest to dine in and get out in about thirty minutes for just $10 and includes biscuit and sweet tea. The New South Café offers upscale catering services available in-flight, for corporate events, conventions, executive lunches, private parties, weddings, receptions and bar mitzvahs.
