Trident Sustainability Group announces a new LEED certification in Springfield, GA

(SAVANNAH, GA)  Trident Sustainability Group announces a new LEED certification – Effingham County Courthouse in Springfield, GA.

The Effingham County Courthouse achieved LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council, and is the County of Effingham’s first LEED certified project. Trident Sustainability Group served as the LEED consultant for the project.

The Courthouse is a historic structure brought back to life with a sustainable flair. Numerous sustainable features were included such as a high efficiency VRV HVAC system, low flow plumbing fixtures, super efficient lighting tied to occupancy sensors, and low emitting finishes were used throughout.

"It was exciting to be involved in such a dynamic project", said Tommy Linstroth, Principal of Trident Sustainability Group. "Achieving Gold certification was certainly above what was expected. And to earn it while maintaining the historical integrity of the project goes to show that LEED and historic preservation go hand in hand.”

The project team consisted of architecture firm HGBD, engineering firm Dulohery Weeks, and general contractor JT Turner.
