(AUGUSTA, GA) The Laney Walker/Bethlehem Development Team will be making presentations this Thursday, May 24 and the following Thursday, May 31 at the Central Office of the Augusta-Richmond County School system. The presentations will focus on home ownership opportunities for school employees, Noon to 1 pm and 1 pm to 2 pm each week. Lunch will be provided.

(AUGUSTA, GA) The Morris Museum of Art is presenting a special book signing with Thursday, May 24 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Book signing with Gardening Guru James Farmer. Southern Living contributing editor James Farmer returns to the Morris to sign his two latest books, Porch Living and Sip & Savor: Drinks for Party and Porch, as well as his previous book, A Time to Plant: Southern Style, Garden Living. Thursday, May 24 from 11 am – 2:00 pm.

(AUGUSTA, GA) Laney Walker/Bethlehem will be showcased this summer in Washington, DC at the national Neighborhood Revitalization Conference. Chester Wheeler, Director of Augusta’s Housing Department, and Jesse Wiles, President of APD Urban Planning & Management, which serves as the project manager for Laney Walker/Bethlehem, will both be featured in a presentation on regenerating the American city.

  
 

(AUGUSTA, GA) CNN rebroadcast its first Voters in America documentary, Vets Wanted, Sunday, May 19. The documentary features narration by former U.S. Army infantryman and motivational speaker JR Martinez. The documentary took 6 months to produce and much of it was shot in and around Augusta. There is terrific footage from the welcome home ceremony including the speech by the Commissioner Joe Jackson who was in attendance.
