Colonial Group, Inc. is preparing to mark a major milestone in the company’s history. On July 21, 2021, Colonial will be celebrating 100 years in business. The company was founded by Raymond M. Demere on July 21, 1921. Over the years, Colonial Group has diversified to be the umbrella company for
Colonial Oil Industries,
Colonial Terminals,
Enmarket,
Colonial Compliance Systems,
Colonial Energy,
Colonial Chemical Solutions,
Colonial Towing,
Savannah Yacht Center and
Aqua Smart. The company plans to observe its 100th anniversary over the next several months with several activities and events including the placement of a historical marker near where Colonial’s first service station was located at 342 Drayton St. A commemorative logo has also been designed and will be used for several years to observe the company’s centennial of service.
