Healthy Savannah wants to remind those parents and all adults that now is the time to get their immunizations updated, too. The Coastal Health District is offering free vaccines for adults without insurance through November 30. The uninsured and underinsured can also still receive COVID-19 vaccines from several local providers through August 31 through the CDC’s Bridge Access Program.

CAMP BUDDY

(CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga.) The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) will host its 15th annual Camp Buddy summer camp for Chatham County on July 8 – 12 at St. Andrews School, located at 601 Penn Waller Rd, on Wilmington Island. Camp Buddy is for children of all ages with Down syndrome and is designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year with a specially designed curriculum.

CITY TO BREAK GROUND ON NEW PHASE OF TIDE TO TOWN URBAN TRAIL SYSTEM

(SAVANNAH, GA) City of Savannah officials and staff, along with community partners, will celebrate the start of construction on the next phase of the Tide to Town Urban Trail System, Truman Linear Park Trail Phase 2B, on July 1 with an official groundbreaking ceremony. Once completed, both phases of Truman Linear Park Trail will create approximately seven miles of continuous off-road, multi-purpose, ADA accessible trail for pedestrians and bicyclists. The 10 a.m. ceremony will be held at the Holly Heights Community Garden on Costa Rica Street and East 58th St.
