(CLAXTON, GA) March 2025 marks a milestone for Pride Pools, Spas & Leisure Products, a family-owned business that started in Claxton, Georgia and now has a Savannah, Georgia location that has been bringing “backyard family fun” to residents across Southeast Georgia for the past 50 years.
“In Celebration of our 50th anniversary, Pride Pools has lined up a host of events to thank our loyal customers,” said Alex Smith, co-owner and president. “We are planning several events with giveaways, including the chance to win a $50 Pride Pools gift card each month at both locations.”
Other anniversary events include:
• SAVANNAH CELEBRATION – March 26 at the Savannah location.
• CLAXTON CELEBRATION – March 27 at Claxton/Evans County Chamber Of Commerce Business After Hours
• CUSTOMER APPRECIATION WEEK – April 21-26 at both locations, featuring a spin-to-win wheel for discounts on purchases, prizes, and free products.
• POOL SCHOOL – April 22 in Claxton and April 24 and May 15 in Savannah. This is a free event, but registration is required. Refreshments will be provided, along with discounts on pool supplies, plus a gift for each registered guest.
• GIVEAWAYS ALL YEAR – Including swimming pool toys & games and pool water test kits
• FREEBIE FRIDAY – Customers receive a gift or prize on the 2nd Friday of every month until the end of the year.
• FIRST DAY OF SUMMER GIVEAWAY – June 30 at both locations. Customers can register for a chance to win a free Canyon Cooler.
• DURING THE SUMMER – Spin To Win will randomly be featured throughout the year
• FIRST DAY OF FALL GIVEAWAY – Customers can register for a chance to win a solo stove (firepit)
In March 1975, Claxton native Gary Smith set out to build his own swimming pool business. Just three weeks after securing a business loan, he constructed his first pool, marking the beginning of Pride Pool Company.
The company began with a single location in Claxton and steadily expanded. After acquiring a spa company, the business rebranded as Pride Pools & Spas Inc. and now serves a 65-mile radius surrounding each of the Savannah and Claxton locations.
In 1999, Smith retired, passing the business to three of his children, who renamed it Pride Pools, Spas & Leisure Products Inc.
Daughter Sherry retired in 2023, and under the leadership of Smith’s sons, the company today continues to garner industry recognition for its business model, revenue growth, and commitment to excellence. Recent awards and recognitions include the 2025 Claxton/Evans County Chamber Of Commerce Business Of The Year, 2025 UAG Spas Dealer of the Year, 2025 UAG Top 10 (#8) Purchasers, 2025, 2023, 2022, 2021 UAG Top 10 Retailers/Dealers of the Year, and 2024 Best Swimming Pool Company – Connect Savannah and a Savannah Ghost Pirates jersey presentation (#50) to commemorate 50 years in business.
