SAVANNAH, Georgia — Loop It Up Savannah is gearing up for its second annual golf tournament, and the local nonprofit is inviting supporters to “swing into action.”
The second annual Loop It Up Cup Golf Tournament will be Friday, Oct. 10, at the Savannah Country Club on Wilmington Island. Registration is still open, but space is limited and filling up quickly.
“After a successful inaugural event last year, we are so excited to bring back the Loop It Up Cup for a second time,” said Loop It Up Savannah Executive Director Molly Lieberman. “This event raises money to support Loop It Up’s programs in over 50 schools and partner sites throughout our community. By signing up for a team or sponsorship, you have an opportunity to directly, positively and consistently impact the lives and education of over 11,000 local children this school year.”
The format for the day will be Four-Person Scramble with opportunities to purchase mulligans. Each entry includes green and cart fees, a light breakfast, a drink ticket, lunch, a Loop It Up Cup 2025 t-shirt and the chance to win prizes. Business sponsors that would like their logo included on the event t-shirt will need to be registered by Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Loop It Up Savannah has been providing creative learning opportunities to Savannah-area students for over 10 years. The organization currently provides school garden workshops at 34 schools, weekly literacy programs to over 1,000 pre-k and kindergarten students every week and mindfulness programming at over 20 schools.
“As a relative newcomer to the work that Loop It Up Savannah does, I have been incredibly impressed with both the mission and impact of the program on children in our community,” said SouthState Bank Senior Vice President Geoff Turner, who recently joined the Loop It Up Board of Directors. “Arts-based learning that fosters creativity, critical thinking and emotional and social awareness has seemed to slowly decline in many educational curriculums. Loop It Up brings that learning directly to the children in the schools resulting in a more vibrant, engaged and collaborative community.
“Participating in events such as the Loop It Up Cup Golf Tournament truly gives this organization a chance to have a lasting positive impact on our community by supporting our children,” Turner said. “Please join us for this fantastic event – and please invite your friends and colleagues to do the same – and support a great organization that is directly and positively impacting our future.”
Loop It Up Cup sponsors include Pintail Site Prep, ServPro of Savannah, Vic’s on the River, SouthState Bank, Jesse’s Automotive, Evans Construction, JDR Construction & Design, Daniel Reed Hospitality, Zachary H. Thomas Law and Georgia Power.
“We are grateful for the support of our sponsors and friends that have registered so far., and we invite businesses and individuals to join our generous group of supporters,” Lieberman said. “Through a day of fun on the green, they will be making sure our organization has the resources needed to provide ongoing creativity, joy, possibility and learning for young people throughout the Savannah area. This support means the world to us, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Oct. 10!”
