SAVANNAH, GA — January 26, 2016 — Coastal Center for Developmental Services (CCDS) is happy to receive a $1000 grant from the Walmart Community Grant Program for a collaborative art project with the Savannah-Chatham Public School System and Effingham County Schools. The Walmart Community Grants Team and Facility #635 recently made the announcement.
The grant will be used to purchase supplies and materials for the World’s Seven Wonders Art Contest, a new project that will involve middle school students from several schools in the two counties. Each school will select a different Wonder to paint and their 8’x10’ completed pieces will be on display in the Day Habilitation Program at CCDS at 1249 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah.
“We are excited that local students will help us bring the world’s natural and man-made landmarks to many who enjoy art,” shared CCDS Director of Development Lee Ann Powell. “We are truly grateful for Walmart’s donation, because it helps make the project possible.”
