(SAVANNAH, GA) Enmarket is pleased to announce the convenience store company raised $91,530 though sales of paper icons and “Full-Service Friday” events in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2016 Light The Night Walk.
This was the fifth year enmarket, formerly Enmark Stations, Inc., has raised money in support of LLS’s mission to cure blood cancer and help patients and their families.
The paper icons were sold in all 61 of enmarket’s retail stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina during May at a cost of $1 each. Each purchased icon could be personalized with the donor’s name and was displayed inside the store. Members of enmarket’s management team also pumped gas for donations to the cause on several Full-Service Friday events at participating stations.
“Enmarket may have provided the means, but it was our customers who put this year’s campaign over the top,” said Houstoun Demere, VP/General Manager of enmarket. “I can’t thank them enough for all of the support they have provided to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.”
In 2011, during its first campaign to support the work of LLS, enmarket raised $8,411. Subsequent years brought in $65,993 (2013), $76,097 (2014) and $90,234 (2015). Combined with the $91,530 raised this year, the company has now contributed a total of $332,265 in the fight against leukemia and lymphoma, and is well within sight of the half-million dollar mark.
Savannah’s Light The Night Walk will take place on Friday, October 14 in Forsyth Park. During the event, walkers carry an illuminated balloon along the walk route. Cancer patients and survivors will carry white balloons as “lights of hope,” supporters carry red balloons and those walking in remembrance of someone carry gold balloons.
