Savannah Mall’s Bass Pro Shop Donates Fishing Equipment to Boy Scout Camps

(SAVANNAH, GA)  Bass Pro Shop, located in the Savannah Mall, made a large donation of rods and reels to the Coastal Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America and the Coastal Conservation Association of Georgia.  Coastal Georgia Council District Executive, Nikki Bing and Coastal Conservation Association Operations Manager, Hillari Keese were on hand to accept the donated equipment at the Bass Pro Shop at Savannah Mall.

Local Boy Scouts Field Director, Micah Donaldson said, “We greatly appreciate this donation of equipment that will be used at our Scoutreach Fishing Derbies here in Savannah and at our two camps, Black Creek Scout Reservation in Sylvania and Camp Tolochee in Brunswick.  Our on-going partnerships with Bass Pro Shops and the Savannah branch of the Coastal Conservation Association of Georgia have been instrumental in helping us introduce our Scoutreach members to the great outdoors and the sport of fishing through our annual fishing derbies.”

Bass Pro Shop’s Operations Manager, Chris Finnegan said, ”Bass Pro Shops is donating 32,000 rods and reels across the US and Canada as part of ‘Gone Fishing,’ a nationwide Bass Pro Shop campaign to inspire kids to put down their digital devices and pick up a fishing pole and discover the great outdoors.”
