(MARIETTA, GA) Carriage Trade Public Relations is pleased to share the good news that one of its writers was part of a 40-voice virtual choir performing an online rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” on Easter Sunday, April 12. Carmel Hearn and other members of the Mt. Bethel UMC Choir in Marietta had planned to sing live from the church choir loft, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, instead, recorded their voice parts from their homes. The performances were assembled by the Mt. Bethel staff and broadcast at the conclusion of the Easter Sunday service. The video has been viewed online nearly 2000 times and was featured by WSB and other Atlanta news outlets.

VOLUNTEERS HELPING SENIORS
(IVOLUNTEER) IVolunteer International just partnered with Shopping Angels and published a website where seniors can sign-up to get matched with a volunteer in their local community to get groceries delivered for free. Shopping Angels is a new movement that started in Nevada. A college student rallied volunteers to provide free grocery shopping delivery to senior citizens in her local community in March this year. It grew and now it’s nationwide. Their movement has been featured on CNN, FoxNews, Insider, Today, and two weeks ago, got a “thank-you” from POTUS on live television. But their method of “matching” was done manually, so they were struggling to handle the traffic and increased need. So (IVolunteer International) reached out and partnered with Shopping Angels. They automated the entire process. Senior citizens who sign up in Georgia are automatically matched with a volunteer using State and Zipcode. It is live now and we have seen a surge of people signing up to get help: https://shoppingangels.ivint.org/
