The Technology Association of Georgia, the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, now has a chapter in Augusta. “Augusta has a great opportunity to strengthen our local technology sector and move towards a more entrepreneurial-based economy by bringing industry thought leaders together to collaborate on new strategic partnerships, new business models and the potential for local technological innovation,” said Mayor Deke Copenhaver.

The Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACGG) has just selected Augusta-Richmond County as one of its 2012 Counties of Excellence, based upon its efforts revitalizaing Laney Walker/Bethlehem. The awards program, in its seventh year, is carried out in partnership with Georgia Trend, with applicants evaluated by a panel of outside experts.
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is presenting the work of Southern Observatory, a group of female artists working in a variety of media from printmaking to ceramics and painting. Now through March 31.

Augusta State University has been to the nation’s 2012 Guide to Top Military Friendly Colleges and Universities by the Military Advance Education, the Journal for Higher Learning for Today’s Servicemenber.
