(AUGUSTA, GA) Historic Augusta, Inc. received a $75,000 grant from the 1772 Foundation, a national leader in the field of historic properties redevelopment. The grant is to be used specifically to enhance the preservation organization’s Revolving Fund, an aspect of its Real Estate Program. Under this program the organization acquires options to buy significant buildings and then sells the properties to preservation minded buyers subject to historic preservation easements.

(AUGUSTA, GA) The Augusta Housing Authority and Augusta Housing & Community Development Department have partnered to begin the first of a multi-phase development at the Twiggs Circle node of the Laney Walker and Bethlehem neighborhoods. Located at Twiggs Street and Wrightsboro Road, this phase will include 40 units of senior housing, featuring single family homes and duplexes. Future phases call for an eclectic mix of homeowners, renters, retail, and neighborhood parks.
