2013 Play It Forward Concert to raise money for local Rotary Clubs
(SAVANNAH, GA) The Rotary Clubs of Coastal Georgia are pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Rotarians Play It Forward Concert to be held on Saturday, April 27 , 2013, 4:00-7:00 p.m., at the Ships of the Sea Museum and Gardens located at 41 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard Savannah, GA in Savannah, GA. The event is a fundraiser for the area Rotary Clubs on behalf of designated local charities and the The Rotary Foundation.
The 2013 PIF Concert will feature an array of performances by prominent local musicians and talented Rotarians. The event will also include a silent auction featuring artwork and valuable items donated by Rotarians, A “Dancing Rotarians” presentation, food, beverages.
“It’s a great value! Live music, great food and beverage are included at just $35 per person, and children under 12 are free. Virtually all of the food and beverages are donated by local restaurants and vendors.” says Pam Brant, serving as chair of the Play it Forward fundraiser. "We proud to note that in three years we have netted over $130,000. The results can only be great when the collective talents of the 600 local Rotarians collaborate on a single fundraising effort.”
The beneficiaries are the Rotary Foundation and its many worldwide philanthropic programs as well as a number of local and international human service programs.
Pam Brandt is Chair and is a member of Savannah Sunrise Rotary Club. Other Rotarians serving in committee roles include Dave Legasse a member of Savannah West Club (past Chair and PR), Rotary Savannah Club members Tom Donlevy (food and beverage chair), Henry Whitfield (logistics chair), Roger Moss and Katherine Rosenblum (production chairs), as well as Savannah Sunrise Club members Clete Bergen (Dancing Rotarians chair), Maureen Horvath (Silent Auction) and from the South Club, Jerry Thomas (Sponsorships).
The participating Rotary Clubs of Coastal Georgia include Richmond Hill, Savannah (downtown), Savannah East, Savannah South, Savannah Sunrise, Savannah West, Skidaway and West Chatham clubs. Rotary Club members work to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under their motto ‘Service Above Self’.
