CENTER PARC CREDIT UNION SPONSORS HOMESTEAD HARVEST GIVEAWAY
(GARDEN CITY, GA) The Garden City Homestead Association’s community garden shared its third harvest with the community on Saturday, Jan. 30 in a program that included food demonstrations and education sessions. The Garden City public was invited to share in a winter vegetable harvest held at the garden, 4115 Second St. in Garden City. This is one of eight community gardens which has been awarded funding from Center Parc Credit Union within the past six months.

(SAVANNAH, GA) World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) announced the appointment of two new Board of Directors members, Register International Inc. founder and CEO Sean Register representing Bryan County and Silver & Associates President Dr. Joseph H. COMMUNITY CARES HEALTH RESOURCES FAIR
(SAVANNAH, GA) Healthy Savannah and the YMCA of Coastal Georgia took part in the Community Cares Fair at DeRenne Middle School on Jan 30 to provide educational resources to help increase flu vaccine awareness, to show the importance of nutrition and physical activity, and to offer assistance through HeroHelpMe.com. This work of the YMCA and Healthy Savannah is supported through grant funding awarded by the Centers for Disease Control’s Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program, whose purpose is to eliminate disparities in health outcomes based on race and income in Savannah and Chatham County. Presented by Georgia Southern University and National Youth at Risk, the drive-through event focused on getting coats and shoes for students, and Second Harvest gave away boxes of food to about 300 families. healthysavannah.org ymcaofcoastalga.org
ANNUAL SAVANNAH BLACK HERITAGE FESTIVAL GOES VIRTUAL
(SAVANNAH, GA) The 32nd Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival is virtual this year with a full schedule of activities. Presented February 5-21 by Savannah State University with investment by the City of Savannah, the event will include readings, art installations, dance performances, concerts, a marketplace, and more.
