ENMARKET IS NOW OPEN IN RICHMOND HILL, RIBBON CUTTING SCHEDULED MAY 4

VISIT TO SAVANNAH’S POWDER MAGAZINE

(SAVANNAH, GA) Historic Savannah Foundation’s 13th Colony had exclusive access to Savannah’s Powder Magazine. Built in 1898 this building is the last of at least four Powder Magazines built in the city. HSF’s 13th Colony is for young professionals ages 21-35, more info at myhsf.org/membership.

CDC UPDATES COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTER RECOMMENDATIONS

(COASTAL HEALTH DISTRICT) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently updated its COVID-19 vaccine recommendations to allow for an additional bivalent booster dose for people at highest risk of severe illness. Previously, individuals could only receive one of the updated booster shots. The additional bivalent booster dose has been authorized for Adults ages 65 years and older and people who are immunocompromised. To schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment, go to www.chdcovidvax.org or call your county health department. Individuals may also call with questions regarding eligibility for another COVID-19 booster shot.

SLOAN NEEDS A HOME

(COASTAL PET RESCUE) Sloan and his littermates were born at animal control and pulled when one day old for rescue. Momma (Heidi) is a medium sized boxer mix, but no clue on the daddy(s) for the litter. All of the litter have been raised so far in the same foster home and have learned to be very affectionate with people – they all love to nuzzle and give puppy kisses. Sloan is the biggest pup of the litter. Sloan will be neutered and current on shots for his age at the time of his adoption.

$3.3 MILLION

(SAVANNAH, GA) Small Business Assistance Corporation has been awarded two grants totaling $3.3 million from the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund. GRAY’S REEF EXHIBIT AT OGLETHORPE MALL LIBRARY

(SAVANNAH, GA) Live Oak Public Libraries and Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary have partnered to host the special exhibit: History of Gray’s Reef. Gray’s Reef staff will present a special program at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Oglethorpe Mall LibraryA Deep Dive into Gray’s Reef: History and Habitat will explore more connections between the sanctuary and our oceans and coasts. The History of Gray’s Reef exhibit is free and open to the public. CREATIVE COAST ANNOUNCES FREE GIRLS CODE SUMMER CAMP JULY 10-14

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Creative Coast has opened registration for Girls Code Summer Camp, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, July 10 to 14 at the Georgia Southern University Armstrong campus in Savannah. In its second year, camp is 100% free for 5th to 8th-grade girls enrolled within the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. The theme of this summer’s camp is centered around aerospace and will include a field trip to Fly Corps Aviation. Lunch and snacks will be provided each day via the campus dining hall with a celebratory showcase to end camp on July 14. Spots are limited and camp fills up quickly so those interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
