Enmarket and Healthy Savannah Invite Public to Kick Off Sixth Annual Encourage Health Educational Series

(SAVANNAH, GA) Enmarket will present the selected speakers for its sixth annual Encourage Health Educational Series during a kick-off party Thursday, March 28, at Cha Bella Restaurant, 102 East Broad St.

Encourage Health

The popular speaker series presented in a lunch-and-learn format offers the public a free opportunity to hear local experts discuss health-related topics in a non-commercial atmosphere. Past programs have covered such topics as the correlation between heart health and a healthy lifestyle, regions known as “blue zones” for their exceptional longevity, the benefits of a plant-based diet and other subjects related to the themes of nutrition and fitness.

This year’s speakers will include Dr. Michael Vaughn, speaking on CBD oil; Desirae Suggs, addressing food scarcity in Savannah; Katie Balthrop, strength training; and Cleveland Beach, meditation practices. More information about the speakers, their qualifications and the particulars of their topics will be announced prior to their presentations.

The launch party will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. Light appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. Expected guests are those who have attended the series during its first five years, past and scheduled speakers, non-profit organizations that advocate for health, program sponsors and the general public.

This marks the sixth year for the Enmarket Encourage Health Education Series conducted in partnership with Healthy Savannah, the Charles H. Morris Center at Trustees’ Garden, Cha Bella, the City of Savannah, Clover Health, Sandfly Family Dental, Savannah Morning News, Savannah Magazine, St. Joseph’s/Candler and WRHQ.

This year’s lunch-and-learn dates, all of which fall on Tuesdays, will be April 30, June 25, August 27 and October 29. More information is available from Paula Kreissler at paula@healthysavannah.org.
