SAVANNAH,GA/HENDERSONVILLE, NC Ken Gaylord Architects has partnered with Savannah-based Melaver, Inc. on the 310 South Main fine condominium project in downtown Hendersonville.  The environmentally friendly project will offer natural interior and exterior finishes for optimal sustainable living in a mountain setting.

310 South Main is a LEED® registered building which projects 30% savings in reduced consumption of energy and water through efficient specifications in lighting, water fixtures, and heating and air conditioning. There will be an on-site cistern for collection of rainwater which will be used for landscape irrigation and a courtyard fountain. The prestigious LEED designation is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and is the internationally recognized standard for high performance, low water and energy use buildings.

The Italian-style courtyard building is designed to maximize sun penetration into the internal spaces and to give light and air to the internal garden. The ground floor of the building will be mixed-use for both residential and business, and is physically connected to the street, providing access to pedestrian sidewalks.

Ken Gaylord, AIA and LEED Accredited Professional, is an architect, artist, and builder known for his creative designs, environmental and community values, and attention to fine detail.  The entire Gaylord team prides themselves on an exceptional work standard. “We are pleased to partner with a well known developer like Melaver, who brings their sustainable design experience to the table,” said Ken Gaylord.

Melaver, Inc. is a third-generation family business devoted solely to sustainable real estate practices.  The company developed Abercorn Common in Savannah, the first all-retail LEED shopping center in the nation and has developed or is in the process of developing another dozen LEED office, retail, and residential projects in Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Located on Historic Main Street in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 310 South Main will provide memorable views from finely crafted environmentally friendly spaces.  Construction is anticipated to commence in the fall of 2007. Please Contact Kathleen Hudson for more information
