(SAVANNAH, GA) March 10, 2025 – In a remarkable achievement highlighting female leadership in a traditionally male-dominated field, Savannah-based security professionals Alaina Meyer, Director at scDataCom, and Kathleen Ford, CEO at scDataCom, have both been named to the prestigious 2025 Security Industry Association (SIA) Women in Security Forum Power 100 list. This exceptional dual recognition of a mother-daughter team underscores their significant contributions to the security industry while putting Savannah on the map as a hub for security innovation and leadership.
The Power 100, presented annually by the SIA Women in Security Forum, celebrates 100 outstanding women worldwide whose accomplishments are redefining leadership in security, breaking barriers, and demonstrating the invaluable contributions women bring to the industry.
“Being recognized alongside my mother makes this honor especially meaningful,” said Alaina. “As women in security, we’ve faced unique challenges, but we’ve turned them into opportunities to innovate and lead. We hope our story inspires other women to pursue careers in this dynamic industry, particularly here in the Southeast.”
scDataCom is a physical security integrator specializing in video and access control systems for organizations with complex requirements. The company has built a reputation for excellence in serving medium-enterprise private companies and federal organizations throughout the Southeast, delivering customized security solutions that address sophisticated operational challenges.
Kathleen Ford added, “This recognition reflects not just our work, but the changing landscape of the security industry itself. We’re proud to represent Savannah on this global stage and to demonstrate that women aren’t just participating in security—we’re helping to shape its future.”
The mother-daughter duo’s selection for this elite list came from a highly competitive field of over 432 nominations, highlighting the significance of their contributions to the security profession.
SIA Women in Security Forum Chair Alice DiSanto noted, “The joy of spotlighting security industry trailblazers and celebrating their leadership is especially powerful when we see family connections like this one. It demonstrates how women are not only succeeding individually but also mentoring and inspiring others to join the field.”
Meyer and Ford will be formally recognized during the ISC West 2025 conference on April 4 in Las Vegas at the Day 3 Keynote event. This free event, sponsored by Dormakaba and HID, will feature a keynote presentation from Kate Maxwell, general manager for the worldwide education industry at Microsoft.
This announcement comes in conjunction with International Women’s Day and its 2025 theme to #AccelerateAction toward gender equality. The SIA Women in Security Forum, which launched on International Women’s Day in 2018, offers numerous programs to promote women’s advancement in security, including the SIA Progress Award, educational scholarships, and professional development opportunities.
