(SAVANNAH, GA) Tuba Christmas will be filling the Savannah Mall with Holiday Music Saturday, November 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the food court. The concert will be made up of musicians ranging from middle school students to retirees, and all will be bringing their holiday spirit. Tuba Christmas is made up entirely of tuba and euphonium/baritone players.

Paul Vogel, one of the coordinators of the concert says not only is this a chance to see what these instruments can play, it’s also an unusual group of musicians, “It’s unique, you’re not going to see a concert of folks with such a wide age range in a tuba-euphonium ensemble.”

Tuba Christmas is a nation-wide project and was started in 1974 by Harvey Phillips in honor of his musical mentor William J. Bell. The first Tuba Christmas was conducted by Paul Lavalle in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza and now takes place in cities across the country. You can learn more at www.tubachristmas.com
