ABOUT THE SHOW
Nocturnal Savannah is a series of oil paintings on panel by Bernard Nolan that depict Savannah after dark from the artist’s evening strolls. With narrative interpretations of recognizable streetscapes around Savannah, each piece offers a glimpse into a interior world. Show opens Friday, May 19th from 6-8pm at 251 Bull St, Location Gallery at Corcoran Austin Hill Realty. As part of Preservation Month, gallery profits from run of show are donated to Historic Savannah Foundation. Show runs through June 12th in the Main Gallery.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
With a B.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design, Bernard Nolan sees Savannah as a very special place, especially after dark. “To capture a moment like that in time is a treasure that must be shared with others. Venturing into the city is just as interesting in its own way. Strong sunlight on buildings casting long shadows is so pleasing to the eye. All of the back alleys and out of the way places that no one sees beauty in, well, it is there and I am here to capture it.”

ABOUT HISTORIC SAVANNAH FOUNDATION
Savannah has not always been the well-preserved Southern city you see today, and it did not happen by accident. Historic Savannah Foundation has been at the forefront of the Preservation movement since the mid 1950s: using all their tools at their disposal to protect and save endangered historic buildings, taking tough positions on public policy, serving as an advocate, educating the public, and providing technical and design assistance for property owners. “We save building, places, and stories that define Savannah’s past, present and future.”
