PRSSA at Savannah State University to Host Marketing Bridge Workshop on March 6, Pairing
PR Students With Local Nonprofits and Small Businesses
(SA V ANNAH, GA) The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter at
Savannah State University will host The Marketing Bridge, a hands-on networking and training
workshop designed to connect 15 nonprofits and small businesses with SSU public relations and
marketing students.
The free event is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the
King-Frazier Ballroom located on the SSU campus. Entrances into the campus are located on La
Roche Ave or Whatley Ave. Lunch will be provided.
The Marketing Bridge will feature interactive mentoring, strategic planning guidance and
internship matching opportunities. Participating organizations will learn how to develop a public
relations plan and social media strategy, working alongside students and seasoned industry
leaders.
Tara Nobles, vice president of marketing for United Way, will present strategies for branding and
social media, including how to structure an effective content calendar.
Marjorie Young, founder of Carriage Trade Public Relations® Inc., will lead a session on
building a 12-month public relations roadmap using her proprietary Reputation Matrix™
method.
Following the workshops, students and attending organizations will collaborate to begin drafting
customized PR and marketing plans, with the goal of forming internship placements for ongoing
execution.
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Seating is limited to 15 organizational

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
About Tara Nobles
Tara Nobles is vice president of marketing for United Way and brings two decades of experience
in public, private and nonprofit communications. Her career includes 12 years with Girl Scouts
of Historic Georgia, positions at the Savannah Convention Center and Colonial Group, and
creative direction at Cecilia Russo Marketing. She previously taught marketing and hospitality at
Savannah Technical College. Nobles holds a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and
an MBA from the University of Florida. A longtime United Way volunteer, she has served on the
board and chaired its Young Leaders Executive Committee.
