Rotary District 6920 Announces New District Governor Colonel (Retired) Todd Freesemann

(SAVANNAH, GA) Rotary District 6920 is proud to announce the election of Colonel (Retired) Todd Freesemann of the West Chatham-Pooler Rotary Club as the district governor for the 2024-2025 term. Freesemann’s term runs for one year and begins July 1, 2024. He will oversee 73 Rotary clubs across central, south-central, southeast, and coastal Georgia, continuing the district’s mission to serve communities and promote global peace and fellowship.

Freesemann joined the Rotary Club of West Chatham-Pooler in 2004. He served as the club’s president from 2008-2009 and as an assistant governor under six different district governors. His dedication to Rotary’s values is evident in his roles as a Georgia Rotary Student Program trustee and a host and mentor to numerous international students. His international Rotary involvement includes participation in the Group Study Exchange and Friendship Exchange programs, notably spending a month with Rotary District 1800 in Germany and hosting their delegation in Georgia.

A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Freesemann’s military career spanned 30 years in both the Army and Air Force, culminating in his retirement as a colonel in 2013. He currently serves as the commander of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, applying his extensive leadership skills to law enforcement.

As district governor, Freesemann will lead approximately 3,000 members in Rotary District 6920, championing initiatives that enhance community service, promote peace, and strengthen fellowship among members. This year’s Rotary theme, “The Magic of Rotary,” aligns perfectly with his vision and leadership style, aiming to inspire and engage members across the district and beyond.
