LOWCOUNTRY DOWN SYNDROME SOCIETY ANNOUNCES 16TH ANNUAL NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS & HIRING EXPO ON THURSDAY, MAY 1

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) is excited to announce the 16th Annual Night of Champions & Hiring Expo, set for Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel. The Hiring Expo and cocktail hour begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and an inspiring awards ceremony. The Night of Champions recognizes businesses that provide meaningful employment to differently-abled adults, including those with Down syndrome, and celebrates the impactful contributions of these employees in the workplace. The evening’s Hiring Expo is a featured event, where companies with job opportunities for differently-abled individuals can connect with potential candidates. FAITH WALK MAY 4 AT LAKE MAYER

(SAVANNAH, GA) Healthy Savannah’s Faith and Health Coalition will host a free community “Faith Walk” event to celebrate health, wellness and springtime fun on Sunday, May 4 at Lake Mayer Community Park. $125,000 GRANT AWARDED

(WTOC) The PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act was passed more than two years ago, but Healthy Savannah and the Gateway Community Service Board are partnering to bring new attention to the law to help build breastfeeding-friendly communities. PUMP requires workplaces with 50 or more employees to provide a safe, private space for mothers to breastfeed or pump breast milk. Time must also be provided to mothers during their work day.

His artwork got accepted into the Santa Fe Indian Market this coming Aug. • Mother’s Day is coming up. Each year my friend Diana Morrison hosts a small brunch with friends that have lost their mothers. It is such a beautiful way to honor our mothers. Diana, thank you for creating such a beautiful tradition. I love that each of us bring the china that our families would use. It makes for such a colorful and inviting table. We then go around the table and and each of us will share a memory. Diana, you are the best!
