BLOOD DRIVE
(SAVANNAH, GA) On Saturday, April 30, The American Red Cross will host the fourth annual Lori Dunham Gordon Memorial Blood Drive at the Savannah Mall, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The blood drive will be located on the lower level of the Savannah Mall, near Center Court between the Stuff Store and GNC. MOVEMENT IN THE PARK

(SAVANNAH, GA) The third annual “Movement in the Park” Health and Wellness Fair will be held on Sunday, May 15 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Forsyth Park. (RINCON, GA)  DRT, a French-based chemical manufacturer, conducted a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week in Effingham County for DRT America, LLC, its first plant in the United States. About 75 guests attended the event. DRT utilizes rosin and turpentine extracted from pine trees to produce products that are found in more than 250 items used by consumers. GARDEN PROJECT

(SAVANNAH, GA) The School Community Garden Project will construct a sustainable greenhouse from recycled plastic bottles and reclaimed wood on , Saturday, April 16 at 12pm in Forsyth Park. Participants are asked to bring a 20oz. plastic water bottle and a pair of scissors. This project will support Hodge Elementary School’s Edible Garden. SWIM SPREE

(SAVANNAH, GA) Friends Introducing Swimming and Healthy Habits (FISHH) in collaboration with the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team (GCAT) and the Savannah Swim Team (SST) will be holding a “Swim Spree” donation drive on Tuesday, April 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chatham County Aquatic Center, located 7240 Sallie Mood Road. This is the fourth year FISHH has held the “Swim Spree” in support of Horizons Savannah’s summer swimming program. In addition to monetary donations, new or gently used goggles, swim suits, towels and training equipment will be accepted at the Aquatic Center on or before April 12. All proceeds benefit students grades Kindergarten through 8th grade who participate in Horizons over the summer.
