HB 170 levies a new tax of $5 per room, per night on all lodging establishments statewide effectiveJuly 1st. The ramifications of this new tax may affect group, convention and business travel, leisure travel and Savannah’s lodging properties; as well as restaurants, retailers, attractions and tours that could suffer from a decrease in visitor traffic.
