The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society to hold Summer Camps in Effingham and Chatham

(EFFINGHAM/CHATHAM, GA) The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society announces their Summer Camp, geared for children (ages 3 to 6) with Down Syndrome. Many educational and recreational activities are designed with these special kids in mind; speech, physical and occupational therapists are on board to help campers exercise motor and speech skills among other areas that may need improvement. This year Camp Buddy is adding a special education teacher who will bring in another area of expertise; ‘Handwriting Without Tears’.

The main purpose of this camp is to promote the retention of the educational accomplishments that the children have made during the school year by bridging the summer months to the upcoming school year.

Effingham Camp Buddy
Dates: June 29th – July 1st (Tues.-Thurs.) and July 6th-8th (Tues.–Thurs.)
Place: First Baptist Church of Springfield
Time: 9:00-12:30 for children over 3 and 8:30-9:00 for children under 3

Chatham Camp Buddy
Dates: July 26th,28th, and 30th(M,W,F) and August 2nd,5th,and 6th (M,TH, F)
Place: Marshpoint Elementary School
Time: 9:00- 11:00 for children under 3 1/2

9:00- 12:30 for children 3 1/2 through 6
1:00- 4:00 for children over 7 years old

Cost is $30.00 for each weekly session your child attends. Financial assistance is available.
