(SAVANNAH, GA) Savannah Country Day’s “Applause for the Arts”

(Savannah Country Day School, Savannah, Ga.) The Savannah Country Day School Fine Arts Department, along with the SCDS Arts Alliance will sponsor a two day showcase of student’s talent planned for April 15th and 16th. The event, Applause for the Arts, features visual art works, as well as performances from the Country Day chorus, orchestra, jazz band, and dance troupe.

Applause for the Arts begins Sunday, April 15th at the Grand Bohemian Gallery at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. The exhibit opens with a reception from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and features original artwork from students in Savannah Country Day’s Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. The exhibit will run from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday, April 16th.  The reception and exhibition are FREE and open to the public.

Monday, April 16th, the art appreciation continues at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts located at32 Abercorn Street in downtown Savannah. Performances from Country Day’s chorus, orchestra, jazz band, and dance troupe, along with a visual art presentation, will take place from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Ticket prices range from $10-15 depending on seat location. All proceeds from Applause for the Arts benefit the Savannah Country Day School Fine Arts program. Applause for the Arts is sponsored by the SCDS Arts Alliance. The mission of the Arts Alliance is to provide a forum for parental involvement and support of the Savannah Country Day School fine arts programs, to provide financial support for approved fine arts program projects and amenities, and to increase the awareness of the school’s fine arts programs both within and outside the Savannah Country Day School family.
