(SAVANNAH, GA) Wheelchair Cleaning Event, Sept 18th 10am-1pm at LIFE, Inc.

LIFE, INC. HOSTS ANNUAL WHEELCHAIR FAIR

August 27, 2010 – Savannah, GA – Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE, Inc.) is
a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of people with
disabilities. LIFE’s mission is to level the playing field for people with disabilities in order
to create a world in which EVERYONE can fully participate.

LIFE will join with Armstrong Atlantic State University, MSL, and Chatham Area Transit
in sponsoring their annual Wheelchair and Scooter Cleaning & Health Fair on
Saturday, September 18th , from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.at LIFE’s location at 12020
Abercorn Street. This event will give individuals who use wheelchairs an opportunity to
have their chairs inspected, deep cleaned, and lubricated for free. Manual wheelchair
participants are asked to bring a towel.

Free food, drinks and goody bags will be provided to all registered participants.
Teleride will also provide free round trip transportation to registered users but guests
must call them in advance at 912-354-6900 to make a reservation.

Fran Todd, LIFE Executive Director, commented on this annual event, “The Wheelchair
Fair is a community service that is greatly needed. It brings together individuals from
Chatham and some of the other eleven counties served by LIFE to network, enjoy a
good time, and have their wheelchairs cleaned and adjusted. This event has been going
strong for over twenty years.”
