A three-day celebration of new works and emerging voices takes the stage September
5–7, 2025
Savannah, GA — Savannah Repertory Theatre is proud to announce the inaugural Savannah
Musical Theatre Festival, running September 5–7, 2025. This new annual event will spotlight
the next generation of storytellers and the creation of original musical works, featuring
performances, staged readings, and a surprise musical theatre improv show.
“The festival represents our mission to create space for the next generation of storytellers and
new works,” said Natasha Drena, Producing Artistic Director of Savannah Rep. “It’s about
connecting audiences with artists in the process of creation, and showing how new musicals
find their voice.”
The festival will feature artists from Savannah and beyond, with events taking place at the Ben
Tucker Theatre at the Otis S. Johnson Cultural Arts Center. Audiences can expect an intimate
look at the creative process alongside fully staged performances, giving them the rare
opportunity to see the next big musical before it reaches larger stages.
Festival Highlights:
● New Musical Staged Readings – Spotlighting fresh voices and original scores.
● Local and Visiting Performers – Celebrating Savannah’s rich performing arts scene.
● Surprise Musical Theatre Improv – A one-night-only event where the audience helps
create the show.
Tickets and full festival details will be available at www.savannahrep.org/smtf.
