Small Business Mentoring and Start-up Information Session at the Savannah Mall, May 16, for National Small Business Week.

(SAVANNAH, GA) In recognition of National Small Business Week, Savannah Mall will hold “How to Start a Business” Information Session on Friday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., located in the food court.

SCORE, The Entrepreneurial Center and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension-County Extension Agency will be available for free business consulting and mentoring.

“We have 41 locally owned and operated businesses, which equates to 49% of the businesses.” said Becky Orsi, Marketing and Specialty Leasing Manager at the Savannah Mall. “We are committed to helping local small businesses succeed, which is why we invited SCORE and UGA representatives to help our community.”

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.
