Stephen W. Brown joins Savannah law firm Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP
Brown specializes in civil litigation, including admiralty, professional malpractice and commercial law.
(SAVANNAH, GA) – Stephen W. Brown has joined Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP as an Associate in the Litigation Department. He works primarily in civil litigation, including commercial disputes, admiralty, and professional malpractice.
Brown grew up in Macon, Georgia, where his father is a Superior Court Judge for the Macon Judicial Circuit.
A graduate of the Cornell Law School, Brown served as managing editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. He also earned a concentration in business law and regulation and received a CALI Award for Excellence in Cornell’s Land Use and Natural Resources Clinic for his project on the border dispute between Georgia’s Bibb and Monroe Counties.
Prior to attending law school, Brown attended the University of Cincinnati. He earned a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University’s McMicken College of Arts and Sciences, where he focused on mathematical logic and philosophy of language. His thesis, The Reasonable Score, proposed an approach to forming truth tables for statements made in conversations where the participants unknowingly assign different meanings to context-sensitive terms.
Simultaneously, he earned a Master’s degree in piano performance from the University’s College-Conservatory of Music. He also received his Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati. He won first prize in the conservatory’s undergraduate piano competition during his freshman year, and later served as a teaching assistant in music theory and as an instructor in the conservatory preparatory department.
