Tenth Goodwill Job Connections Center to Open in Savannah

(SAVANNAH, GA) On Friday, Feb. 7, Goodwill will open a new Job Connections Center in a newly remodeled space at its headquarters location at 7220 Sallie Mood Drive in Savannah. The grand opening celebration begins with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Tours of the new center will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a Resource Fair at the center during the tour hours.
The Job Connection Center will serve as Goodwill’s tenth Job Connection Center site in the region. This new Savannah Center offers job seekers access to job leads, and provides the technology resources to prepare the job seeker for a successful job search. The center manager serves as an onsite coordinator, working with individuals to explore different career interests and develop a plan based on the individual’s personal job goals. 
The Job Connection Center offers assistance with resume writing, interviewing skills, health and wellness education, financial literacy, and many other classes. Career fairs and other networking opportunities are open to the public. Free computer and internet access enables applicants to view job postings and submit their job history online. 
Also featured in the Job Connection Center is GStar Staffing, Goodwill’s professional staffing agency. G-Star human resources experts thoroughly vet all candidates for temporary staffing work by pre-screening, interviews, evaluations and  reference checking before recommending candidates to client companies. G-Star is a division of Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, Inc. Its profits go to help fund Goodwill’s many vital community programs.
