Ocean Plaza helps wed Warriors Dec 8
(TYBEE ISLAND, GA ) Ocean Plaza Beach Resort on Tybee Island will participate in uniting 22 military couples in matrimony as part of Weddings for Warriors. The wedding ceremonies will take place on the beach in front of Ocean Plaza Resort on Wednesday, December 8 at 3 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. A memorial and private dinner reception will follow the ceremonies at Ocean Plaza’s Dolphin Reef Oceanfront Restaurant at 5:30 p.m.
This is the first time that Tybee Island has hosted a Weddings for Warriors event and the first time in the organization’s two-year history that all applying couples were chosen.

The December 8 event is being held in conjunction with the Savannah Wedding Tourism Council. Weddings for Warriors provides the brides and grooms with photographers, hair and makeup artists, dresses and rehearsal dinners.
World famous wedding gown designer Alfred Angelo has donated 48 gowns for the Weddings For Warriors brides. The gowns, which the participating brides may keep, have a combined total value of $20,000 to $30,000. The brides are ecstatic when they find out that these beautiful gowns will become their own keepsakes.
For the week of the weddings, Ocean Plaza Resort will offer special hotel room rates for the couples and their families and friends while also reserving the Dolphin Reef Oceanfront Restaurant and Sports Bar for receptions.
Most of the participating warriors are returning from deployment and have recently served in combat operations in the Middle East.
