A very special Mother’s Day Brunch is being offered at Chef Matt Cohen’s New South Pub & Catering, Sunday from 11AM to 2PM.  Nestled in the midst of the very beautiful Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum on the west side, Chef Matt’s restaurant is the perfect spot for a quiet and enjoyable meal with mom.
 
Chef Matt will be serving up some of the delicious cuisine for which he has become so well known, along with some Mother’s Day specials. 
 
Sunday’s menu choices include Creamy Shrimp and Grits, Squash Casserole, Broccoli Soufflé, and Gourmet Macaroni & Cheese, along side of a Beef and Turkey Carving Station. Brunch specials such as Eggs Benedict or Scrambled Eggs with a side of Bacon or Sausage, and New South Fried Potatoes will also be served up while supplies last.  Chef Matt will be featuring two soups-Potato and Cheese soup and his very popular Sweet Potato Bisque, and all meals include a visit to the fresh salad bar.  Finish the meal with a selection from an assortment of mouth-watering desserts-all for just $18 per person (children under 10 can eat for just $9).
 
About Chef Matt Cohen:
Chef Matt Cohen is a culinary expert who has worked in big name restaurants throughout New York and Atlanta.  A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Cohen trained at one of the top rated culinary schools in the world.  He has been honored with numerous awards throughout his career including the 2008 Small Business Chamber’s New & Emerging Small Business of the Year Award,  the 2008 Grace Award for Innovator of the Year, and 2008 Best Chef of the Year by "Connect Savannah" magazine in their annual Best-of-Savannah Readers’ Poll.  Cohen was recently elected to serve as a board member for the Georgia Restaurant Association and The Savannah Chapter of The American Red Cross.  Cohen also teaches as Associate Instructor for the Culinary Arts Program at Savannah Technical College.
 
About The New South Pub & Catering:
The New South Pub cooks up the authentic, long-loved dishes of the South-with a gourmet twist.  Chef Matt opened his restaurant The New South Café in 2006 after great success with his long standing catering business Professional Chef Services.  Cohen expanded his catering business and restaurant in 2008, moving to The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum where he is now in-house caterer, and changing his business name to New South Pub & Catering to reflect these exciting changes.
