Angela Canfield Announces Inspiring Smiles Series to be Held in 2015

(SAVANNAH, GA) Dr. Angela Canfield of Sandfly Family Dental in Savannah, GA and Premier Dental Designs in Rincon, GA announces the 2015 Inspiring Smiles Series.

The four speeches will feature topics below:
*"Mercury Removal in the the Mouth" on Tuesday, January 27, 6 p.m.
*"Oral DNA and Periodontal Testing" on Tuesday, April 14, Noon to 1 p.m.
*"Am I a Candidate for Invisible Braces" on Tuesday, July 14, 6 p.m.
*"Heart and Mouth Connection: 10 Things to Know" on Tuesday, October 20, Noon to 1 p.m.

Along with Dr. Canfield, Dr. Mark Domanski of Crossroads Chiropractic and Wellness Center will present the first speech, “Mercury Removal in the Mouth.” The environmental health effects of mercury, primarily found in mercury-laden sliver fillings, include brain damage and neurological problems especially for children and the unborn babies of pregnant women. Dr. Canfield and Dr. Domanski will explain where mercury is found in the mouth and how to remove it safely.

Oral DNA and Periodontal Testing will be the focus of the second discussion in the series. Periodontal diseases, such as gingivitis, are caused from bacteria that inflames the gums. Symptoms include bad breath, red or swollen gums, and receding gums. Dr. Canfield will explain the benefits of early detection and the process to determine patients’ risks of these diseases.

Invisible braces are a great solution for patients with malocclusion, a deep bite or an over bite. For people who want to improve their smile, the third discussion would provide information on these braces. Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic to wear over teeth that will gradually and gently shift teeth into place.

The final talk in the 2015 Inspiring Smiles Series will present “The Heart and Mouth Connections: 10 Things to Know.” Studies have shown that the bacteria found in and around the periodontal spaces in your mouth are also found in the heart and other organs. Dr. Canfield will discuss more than just 10 things you should know, but rather things you can actively do to keep your mouth and heart in tip-top shape, adding to your complete healthcare agenda.

The Inspiring Smiles Series will take place at Dr. Canfield’s office located at 7360 Skidaway Rd., Suite H2. It is free to attend, but there is an encouraged donation to the Savannah Children’s Theatre. To RSVP, call Dr. Canfield at 912-349-0472.
