Kole Management Company Acquires Atlanta Area Apartment Community, Heritage at Riverstone

(SAVANNAH, GA) Kole Management Company (KMC), a Savannah-based real estate investment and management company, has acquired Heritage at Riverstone, a 240-unit apartment community in Canton, Ga.

Heritage at Riverstone is the sixth apartment community acquired by KMC outside Savannah and is the first apartment community in the greater-Atlanta region. KMC also owns and operates seven apartment properties in Savannah, Garden City and Richmond Hill. Collectively, KMC owns and operates about 2,500 total apartment units.

Heritage at Riverstone, a class A gated property built in 2001, features one-, two- and three-bedroom units with a variety of upscale features including vaulted ceilings, garden tubs, walk-in closets and built-in bookshelves. The landscaped 22-acre property includes a fitness center, a pool with a sundeck and stone cabana, a picnic pavilion and private garages available for rent.

KMC plans to make a number of significant improvements that include adding a fireplace to the pool cabana, installing a fire pit, a pet grooming station and dog park and building a community room with roll-up doors adjacent to the pool.

Canton is located about 40 miles northwest of Atlanta in Cherokee County, which is the fourth fastest growing county in Georgia and boasts an award-winning public school system with four STEM (science technology engineering and math) academies.

Heritage at Riverstone is a fabulous opportunity for KMC,” said company president Jeff Kole. “It’s a beautiful, residential-style community in a high growth area with excellent schools and high-end retail shopping. We’ll be selectively improving the property, which will result in a top quality living environment for our residents.”

(SAVANNAH, GA) Business and entertainment attorney Charles Bowen was a featured speaker at the Georgia Entertainment 101 Event in Atlanta.

Bowen is recognized within the Savannah film community for his formation of the Savannah Film Alliance in 2015, and, more recently, he founded Southern Gateway Production Services, which offers seamless opportunities for out-of-town producers and movie executives to navigate finding the best crews, talent and location services available in Savannah.

Bowen’s presentation highlighted the importance of Savannah’s rising star as a production destination, with local spending on motion pictures and television in the area rising from $18 million in 2014 to an all-time high of $60 million in 2016.

The purpose of the Georgia Entertainment 101 event was to connect top-tier professionals at a targeted and strategic networking event. Key financial, legal, banking and governmental leaders were in attendance as well as studio executives and producers. Other presentations focused on event security, investing strategies, entertainment banking and a look at what’s happening in Savannah.

Southpoint Media Launches GoWP to Provide Premium WordPress Support

(ATLANTA, GA) GoWP is a newly launched WordPress support service of Southpoint Media, Inc., a leading regional web services firm. GoWP provides full support for WordPress websites by offering automated software updates, regular onsite and offsite backups, security monitoring and help from WordPress experts.

The new service allows organizations with WordPress websites to focus on their content instead of worrying about technical infrastructure and security.

“This is an underserved market” said GoWP Founder Brad Morrison. “Most of the focus goes into building the website but the ongoing maintenance after launch is neglected. WordPress updates fall behind, security is overlooked and there’s no one to turn to for help. GoWP can change that.”

He has 20 years of web design experience, having served in various technical roles for both private and non-profit organizations. Lucas Karpiuk will serve as the Technical Lead and Elizabeth Schorr will coordinate the marketing efforts.

Monthly support plans include automated WordPress core and plugin updates, regular backups, security monitoring, malware removal and help from WordPress experts. GoWP can be used with third-party hosting providers but also offers fast, scalable web hosting as an add-on.

Southpoint Media has served clients for over a decade from locations in Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah. Based in Atlanta, GoWP represents the next stage of growth for the company, by offering subscription-based WordPress support for the global market.

Dazhong Wu receives the Sam Nunn Fellowship for 2012-2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

(ATLANTA, GA) Dazhong Wu, a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering at the
Georgia Institute of Technology, was recently awarded the Sam Nunn Fellowship
for 2012-2013. As part of his fellowship Wu will conduct research and develop a
detailed policy proposal on Cloud-Based Design and Manufacturing (CBDM), his area
of expertise, which is a novel research topic and an emerging paradigm of product
development, and receive training in the program’s weekly Security Seminar.

Wu, a native of China, received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Hunan
University in 2004 and an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiao
Tong University in 2007. He began the doctoral program in mechanical engineering
at Georgia Tech in 2009. Wu currently work with Dr. David Rosen and Dr. Dirk
Schaefer, serving as a graduate research assistant in the college’s mechanical engineering
department.

Wu is the 2011 recipient of the Rotary Club of Savannah’s Porter G. Pierpont Memorial
Scholarship. He co-authored an article titled “SysML-Based Design Chain Information
Modeling for Sheet Metal Production Reconfiguration in the Journal of Intelligent
Manufacturing in 2012. Wu served as chair of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers Savannah Section and chair of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association
for the 2010-2011 term.

As part of his CBDM research, Wu will examine how cloud technology can change
the way that design and manufacturing engineers develop products and the way that
customers are involved in this process. He will attempt to formulate a systematic
architecture and to conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis for CBDM that can
characterize and provide fundamental and theoretical insights into the next generation of
product realization modeling.

“I am very happy and deeply appreciative to be selected as the recipient of the Sam Nunn
Fellowship. I am especially pleased to share this award with my research advisors, Dr.
David Rosen and Dr. Dirk Schaefer, for their mentorship and invaluable advices that
make me think thoroughly and differently.”
