FREE TESTING FOR COVID AND FLU THROUGHOUT COASTAL HEALTH DISTRICT

(COASTAL HEALTH DISTRICT) Wondering if your cough is from COVID or the flu? Want to make sure you aren’t bringing either respiratory virus to your next family gathering? Now you can get free COVID and flu tests from seven testing kiosks in the Coastal Health District. The kiosks dispense two test kits – one for COVID and one for influenza. They are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Savannah, Pembroke, St. Marys, Hinesville, Brunswick and Darien. Pre-registration for testing is not required but is available at https://register.testandgo.com/. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the tests provided through a DPH kiosk; for individuals with insurance, their insurance will be billed. In addition to testing, vaccination and good respiratory hygiene also help prevent the spread of COVID and flu. The Coastal Health District encourages everyone to frequently and thoroughly wash hands with soap and warm water, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow to help prevent the spread of germs and stay home from work or school if you’re sick.

GRACIE NEEDS A HOME

(COASTAL PET RESCUE) Gracie is going to need some grace as she adjusts to life in a new home. She continues to learn that people are good but still takes her time to get to know someone before trusting them. Because she can still be skittish, she’s not a fan of being picked up, and pets are strictly on her terms. Once she trusts you, and you’re in her good graces, she can be incredibly sweet; rubbing against your legs and asking for rubs and chin tickles. (Pro Tip: Feeding time is usually a good time to work on rapport with her.) She can also be quite playful and really has fun with feather wands and shoelaces. Gracie would do well in a home with another chill cat who isn’t as skittish with people so Gracie can continue to learn that people can be good. If you’re ready to give this sweet girl the patient, loving home she deserves, don’t wait to submit an application to meet her.
